I've been loving this "salad season", mixing up different dressings.  I haven't bought a bottle of salad dressing from a grocery store in a few years.....
So when I reached for the piece of ginger that I bought a week ago I found this:

It usually doesn't last very long in my kitchen because I use it in a lot of things, but this one sat around long enough to sprout!  So I'm wondering if it can be planted?  I'm sure it wouldn't last over a New England winter but what would it yield over one growing season?  Would it grow in a container?
