(your name here) vs. the computer

With all the talk about the Jeopardy match against a computer, I liked this in today's NYTimes online. I chose the "novice" selection. At first it was fun but the more rounds played, the computer looks for patterns in your moves....so it gets harder. I won 30 rounds against the computer's 21 wins and decided to quit while I was ahead ;)

I posted already once - not sure why it isn't on here, but I did try this game.

Disclaimer: I have NEVER played rock, paper, scissors in my life and don't know what beats what?!

I won 7, the computer won 11 and we tied for 11. I lose, obviously :)

Hi Maria,

I hope it was at least a bit of a novelty, maybe even fun?

What-beats-what is rock smashes scissors, scissors cuts paper, and paper covers rock. Yeah, not too ingenious, but the secret to the computer on that game was that it was looking for patterns in your moves, so it would get harder as you went along (since it could "predict" your next throw).
As with most other things in life, it all came down to math and probabilities ;)

AH, but we'd all like to beat the computer. Well, at least I would, once in a while ;)
