Aww, nuts!

This is why we have so many squirrels...

I've been hearing acorns dropping for the past week. They don't seem like they'd make much noise, but I was quite surprised when the first few fell. When they hit the dirt, they make a thud. But when they fall in the brush you can hear a quick rustle in the leaves. It's actually quite nice to listen to Nature here in the city.

At 6:15, every morning, I let the chickens out of the coop. The squirrels start going crazy and literally throw acorn shells at me. I am usually out there for about 15-20 minutes with the hens and the squirrels aren't too happy with me....It is funny!!!

I love to sit outside in the early morning (coffee in hand) and listen to the birds, etc...interesting thought....listening to the acorns fall:)

I've posted photos of my mother-in-law's quilts, FarmGal. I believe they were hand-sewn, too. My own mother looked at them and agrees....such a treasure!
