Yesterdays

There are the remainders of so many sheds and buildings that will someday be gone. They hold the dreams of past generations.

We have a small cabin up on the hill above us on our neighbor's land. Over the last 15 years I have seen it go to pieces, little by little. Now, it's just a pile of wood and an old sink... and a rusty bed frame. Seems so sad.
A man working at the local grocery store said that his grandmother lived there in the 30's. Someone did lived here. It has memories. I brought a basket, filled with purple Irises, back many years ago that I dug up from an area in front of the house and now they are in my garden. What a thrill it was to find these flowers that someone planted so long ago..., a reminder of someone who gardened and love this little place.
Thanks for your photos of old houses..., reminders of lives gone by.

It's heartwarming that someone (years ago) planted the irises, loved them, and then "shared" them with you! No matter what happens to the cabin and the land that it is on, you have a piece of it in your garden.
